Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out various tasks related to road maintenance and construction, including repairing footpaths and kerb & channel, cleaning and repairing urban and rural drainage systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and maintenance duties, with experience working with plant and equipment. They will also possess a valid driver's license (minimum medium rigid) and be able to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and climbing into high cabins of plant.

A Construction Induction Card is essential for this role, as well as a thorough understanding of occupational health and safety guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out road maintenance and construction duties as required.
  • Repair footpaths and kerb & channel, including removal and replacement of small lots.
  • Clean and repair urban and rural drainage systems.
  • Participate in Council's after hours' call out phone and standby system.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in construction and maintenance duties on roads, footpaths, parks and gardens, and/or drainage assets.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Understanding of traffic management.
  • Understanding of OH&S guidelines.
  • Driver's license (medium rigid minimum).
  • Ability to perform various tasks involving heavy lifting and climbing into high cabins of plant.
  • Knowledge of road maintenance and Construction Induction Card.
