Accounting Manager Role

Our client is a globally recognized leader in the FMCG manufacturing industry, with a strong presence across Australia and New Zealand.

This is an opportunity to step into a strategic leadership position within a fast-paced, innovative business that partners with major national distributors and supports over 140 independent retailers.

The company is known for its commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous growth. The role is based in their modern and spacious South East Melbourne office-a convenient and accessible location offering the ideal mix of professional challenge and lifestyle balance.

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting function.
  • Supervise and support a small team.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate weekly, fortnightly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee cash flow management, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, PAYG, and payroll tax reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and analysis for decision-making.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
  • Manage reporting obligations across both Australia and New Zealand.

Requirements:

  • Bonus if you are CPA/CA-qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring finance staff.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian accounting standards and familiarity with New Zealand reporting requirements.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience with Apprise ERP (or similar systems) is advantageous, but not essential-training will be provided.
  • A hands-on, proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
