Join Our Team as Policy and Industry Engagement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Industry Engagement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of superannuation.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement policies that genuinely shape outcomes for millions of Australians.
  • Build strong partnerships with peak industry bodies to coordinate and communicate Hostplus' stance on major policy issues.
  • Represent Hostplus in industry working groups and capture outcomes to inform strategic alignment.
  • Track policy developments and translate emerging legislative changes into actionable insights.
  • Partner with regulatory change leads to support internal readiness and cross-functional understanding.
  • Contribute to broader Public & Corporate Affairs initiatives that position Hostplus at the forefront of superannuation thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Policy Development: Develop and implement policies that align with Hostplus' goals and objectives.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry experts, and internal subject matter experts.
  3. Communication and Advocacy: Effectively communicate Hostplus' stance on policy issues and advocate for the interests of our members.
  4. Collaboration and Partnerships: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement strategic plans.
  5. Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the superannuation industry.
  6. Reporting and Monitoring: Provide regular reports and updates on policy developments and progress towards goals.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in public policy, corporate affairs, or related roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australia's regulatory and legislative environment, including key frameworks and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence, engage, and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with experience preparing briefing papers, submissions, and executive correspondence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in public policy, political science, communications, or equivalent experience.
