Casual Academic Teaching Position in Early Childhood Education

We are seeking qualified and experienced professionals to teach undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Education Studies (Early Childhood).

  • Teach courses in Early Childhood Education, including Human Development and Learning, Teaching with Technology, Professional Experience: Play and Pedagogy in Early Learning, Engagement and Behaviour in Early Learning, Creative Expression and Play through the Arts, Foundations of Numeracy, English Language and Literacy.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Academic Lead- Early Childhood Education to ensure that all courses are delivered and assessed to the requirements of the institution.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching to students in accordance with institutional curricula.
  • Manage online learning platforms for delivery of specific courses.
  • Create and maintain an innovative learning environment for students to meet learning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks.
  • Identify students who are 'at risk' of failing a unit and assist them via the appropriate referral.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Provide ongoing student support both face-to-face and online.
  • Assure the quality of the assessment and examination processes.
  • Support the Academic Lead- Early Childhood Education when required.

For this position, we require a PhD or Master's degree qualification in a relevant field, registration or eligibility to gain registration with the relevant teacher registration board, discipline knowledge in Early Childhood Education, experience in teaching university-level courses, and demonstrated commitment to student learning.
