Restorative Justice Facilitator

The role of the Youth Justice Conference Convenor involves preparing for and facilitating conferences following restorative justice principles. This includes inviting and meeting with participants, as well as facilitating conversation and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be self-motivated with excellent time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Develop strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local police, cultural groups, and community agencies.
  • Actively promote collaboration and engagement with multicultural and Aboriginal communities, victims, and families.
  • Possess a strong interest in working with young people, families, and victims of crime, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Maintain regular availability to complete conferences, each taking approximately 10-15 hours including preparation and facilitation.
  • Work collaboratively in an environment that requires flexibility and adaptability to meet changing referral numbers throughout the year.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum Provisional 2 NSW Driver's licence.
  • Obtain a National Criminal History Check.
  • Access to your own computer with internet access and mobile phone.
  • Hold current NSW Working with Children Check Clearance (WWCC).
