Inclusive Support Role
As a skilled Inclusion Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community. Your intrinsic motivation to support and guide children's learning contributes to the creation of an inclusive and responsive educational programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brought Connection Values to life in everyday practice, fostering a sense of belonging among children, families, and colleagues.
- Adhered to Journey's child-safe policy and code of conduct, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all.
- Assisted with observations of individuals and groups of children, promoting their unique strengths and interests.
- Evaluated children's individual strengths, weaknesses, interests, and preferences, using this information to design activities that cater to their needs.
- Contributed to programme design, implementation, and evaluation, working collaboratively with others to foster children's development.
- Worked effectively as a team member within the defined position description, supporting colleagues and centre goals.
- Sought and accepted support from Lead Educators, Educational Leader, and Centre Manager, prioritising continuous improvement and growth.
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for all children and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand ECA Code of Ethics and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Understood appropriate behaviours while engaging with children, prioritising their emotional and physical well-being.
- Held current Valid Working with Children Check, ensuring a clear police record.
- Hold ACECQA approved Diploma or Certificate III in Children's Services, or working towards, to demonstrate expertise in early childhood education.
- First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Certificates, ensuring readiness to respond to emergencies.
