Data Architect Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled data architect to join our team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced data architect to support the development and implementation of a major IT enhancement project. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data lifecycle management and be able to design and implement effective data architecture and integration frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To map existing data holdings, inputs and dependencies impacted by the project.
  • To investigate and recommend optimisation of the use of data holdings for the different streams of the project.
  • To design and implement data architecture and integration frameworks that enable best practice data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies and regulations.
  • To collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise existing reporting processes, including setting standards for data accuracy and quality.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of revised and renewed data processes, adapting the approach when new information is presented.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within agencies with regulatory compliance responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing and optimising data holdings to ensure effective execution of business operational and strategic responsibilities and goals.
  • A working understanding of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of data security controls required by the organisation.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, including well developed negotiation and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
