Job Overview
The Instructional Specialist plays a vital role in the implementation and embedding of foundational literacy and numeracy practices in educational settings. This position involves supporting school leaders and teaching teams to develop evidence-based strategies for instructional improvement, resulting in enhanced learning outcomes for students.
This role focuses on ensuring high-quality Tier 1 instruction and developing processes and practices for Tiers 2 and 3 within the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. The successful candidate will possess strong teaching skills, experience in instructional leadership, and a deep understanding of curriculum design and implementation.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of MTSS framework and ensure its effective integration into school practice
- Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to develop and deliver high-quality instructional programs
- Analyze data to identify areas of improvement and inform targeted interventions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including teachers, school leaders, and parents
Essential Requirements:
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
- A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000
Desirable Requirements:
- Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005
