Transform the Energy Landscape with Expertise

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Distributed Energy Resource (DER) solutions and renewable energy projects. You'll provide subject matter expertise in network connection, regulatory, and operational requirements for DER, supporting technology teams in the development of DER orchestration solutions and virtual power plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent our organization in national working groups focused on the standardization of DER communications protocols.
  • Develop internal standards and procedures to ensure the effective, safe, and scalable management of aggregated DER fleets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on DER connection processes, technical rules, and market regulations to support the implementation of DER aggregation services.
  • Provide specialist engineering advice across the DER and renewable asset lifecycle to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical/Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of six years' hands-on experience in an engineering role, ideally within the energy or utilities sector.
  • A strong understanding of control systems and the electricity grid, including DER integration.
  • Familiarity with DER communications protocols, preferably IEEE 2030.5/CSIP-Aus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and regulatory bodies.
