Lead Director for Capital Markets Strategy

As a Lead Director, you will champion strong and transparent real estate capital markets to create thriving cities, robust economies, and sustainable communities.

  • Develop and lead public debates and campaigns on real estate capital markets issues, fostering collaboration with stakeholders and influencers.
  • Lead public-facing communications campaigns for advocacy and branding objectives, leveraging your expertise in tax and capital markets to drive policy positions and submissions.
  • Be a trusted advocate for real estate capital markets and institutional investment in property, cultivating relationships with key partners and decision-makers.
  • Use your expertise to develop policy positions and submissions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • In partnership with membership and partnerships teams, retain and attract members, driving growth and engagement.
  • Design and deliver the Property Leaders' Summit and Capital Markets Forum, providing valuable networking opportunities and thought leadership.
  • Be a high-performing leader as part of the Executive Committee and National Advocacy team, contributing to strategic planning and goal achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy and business planning for Capital Markets within the National Advocacy team, aligning with organizational objectives and goals.
  • Lead teams and work across organizations with a 'one company' mindset, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
  • Develop and maintain multiple strategic alliances and networks, expanding our reach and influence.
  • Strong understanding of political and policy development processes, ensuring effective advocacy and policy shaping.
  • Policy writing, including Australian tax system and government processes, with a focus on clarity and impact.
  • Capital markets and institutional investment knowledge, preferably in the property sector, applied to drive business growth and strategy.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a similar leadership role, with a proven track record of success and growth.
  • Strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • High-performing leadership style at senior levels in the public, private or not-for-profit sectors, with a focus on collaboration and results-driven outcomes.
  • Superior experience in complex government, political, and policy development processes, with a deep understanding of the Australian tax system and government processes.
  • Significant advocacy and policy shaping credentials, with a focus on driving change and improving outcomes.
