About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Services team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering design solutions for capital projects, including the design, commissioning, and installation of steam turbines, alternators, and air compressors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical engineering design solutions for capital projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, practices, and QA/QC policies.
  • Provide technical engineering advice and support to maintenance teams regarding equipment remediation and life extension.
  • Manage external consultants to deliver detailed engineering solutions, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions and services that meet process functional requirements and operating plant life.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in applying engineering knowledge within the power generation industry, with a focus on mechanical engineering design and project coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD, as well as other engineering analysis packages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
