About the Role
The role of a Social Worker is to provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in addressing emotional, social, and systemic factors that influence their health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities include case management, crisis response, community outreach, and connection to vital services. This involves working holistically with individuals and families to address issues like mental health, housing, child safety, AOD use, and financial stress.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership. You will also need to have demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and the impact of colonisation on health and wellbeing.
Additional requirements include the ability to deliver culturally safe and responsive services in collaboration with Aboriginal staff and community members.
