Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Lead to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in shaping a culture of safety and wellbeing across our workplace.

The successful candidate will lead the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System. You will ensure the safety of our staff, contractors, tenants and visitors through effective systems, policies, training and leadership.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the management and continuous improvement of WHS Management Systems.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of WHS policies, systems, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
  • Support the investigation of significant WHS incidents and contribute to the development of action plans.
  • Deliver comprehensive WHS reporting, including trend analysis, monthly statistics, and executive papers.
  • Conduct audits, assurance checks, safety inspections and provide strategic advice on WHS risks and control measures.
  • Drive the integration of WHS requirements into contractor management processes, ensuring effective onboarding, compliance, and monitoring.
  • Provide guidance on the Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP) and deliver effective WHS training programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS (or related discipline).
  • Demonstrated experience managing WHS Management Systems and delivering on risk, audit, and legislative compliance requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of harmonised WHS legislation and practical experience applying this within a diverse workplace.
  • Skilled in WHS incident investigation (ICAM or Taproot qualified), with a track record of delivering meaningful outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build trust across all levels of the business.
