The company aims to progress discoveries through to profitable mining operations, with a focus on gold exploration and mine development studies near Leonora.
Currently, they are advancing through PFS activities and developing plans for a pilot-scale operation to inform their technical, market, financial, social, and environmental studies.
The Role Reporting to the Exploration Manager, this role will be responsible for developing, implementing, executing, tracking, promoting, and managing the company's Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems and culture.
The WHS Lead will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, support the transition from exploration to project development and production, and promote a proactive safety culture across all organizational levels.
Key responsibilities include: Developing, implementing, executing, and continuously improving the company's WHS and Risk Management policies, procedures, and systems across all business units, including crisis and emergency management systems, with training provided across all units.
Collaborating with business units to integrate WHS systems into planning and execution processes.
Leading incident investigations to identify root causes and assisting in corrective actions.
Managing occupational health matters, workers' compensation, and injury management.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of and ensuring compliance with the WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations, including reporting and documentation obligations.
Creating and maintaining policies that promote mental health, respectful workplace behavior, and psychological safety.
Embedding psychosocial risk management within the broader WHS management system, aligned with relevant legislation.
Requirements This role requires practical industry experience in WHS within a similar setting, such as a rapidly growing junior explorer or mid-tier developer/producer.
The candidate should be a self-starter, comfortable being a hands-on "one-man band." A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is expected, along with a Diploma or postgraduate qualification in WHS or Risk Management.
In-depth knowledge of the WA WHS Act and Mining Regulations is essential.
