Salvage Asset Operations Leader

Our organization is seeking a reliable and fast-learning leader to oversee daily operations at our salvage vehicle and heavy motor site in Melbourne. This permanent full-time position works Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Lead and motivate a team of asset inspectors and forklift operators
- Provide strong leadership through organizational skills, prioritization management, clear direction setting, role clarity, and performance expectations for your team.
- Ensure occupational health and safety standards are upheld and managed as per policies.
- Monitor, manage, and assist with stock location, stock audits, asset movements/loading, and workflow.
- Guarantee all booking-in key performance indicators are met in line with asset sales channels and vendors' requirements.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Sound experience in operations supervision and/or management, preferably with experience in the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or distribution sectors
- Lead by example, actively participate in daily processes, set site priorities, and develop into a salvage asset expert over time
- Be self-motivated with a hands-on approach, can-do attitude, adaptable, and flexible in fast-paced environments
- Experience or acceptance towards working in various weather conditions safely and effectively
- Able to engage and motivate a team with strong people management skills
- Competent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office skills and ability to learn our user-friendly auction system
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety regulations
- Current/valid manual driver's license
- Experience operating or working with heavy vehicles or civil equipment is an advantage
