Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Systems Software Engineer III to join our team. This position will involve designing and coding automated test equipment software to support formal and informal verification of avionics requirements (qualification and acceptance testing). The successful candidate will also develop and maintain user interfaces for running verification tests on engine controllers, establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software reliability, release, and configuration management, perform regression testing of test equipment software, use measurement and data analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing, and support analysis of acceptance testing failures conducted by off-site contract manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and code automated test equipment software to support formal and informal verification of avionics requirements (qualification and acceptance testing)
  2. Develop and maintain user interfaces for running verification tests on engine controllers
  3. Establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software reliability, release, and configuration management
  4. Perform regression testing of test equipment software
  5. Use measurement and data analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing
  6. Support analysis of acceptance testing failures conducted by off-site contract manufacturers

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering or a related field
  2. 6+ years of software development, integration, systems engineering and/or testing experience
  3. Proficiency troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with bench measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment
  4. Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Principals
  5. Hands-on experience with high reliability mission critical software development
  6. Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting test networks
  7. Strong skills using Python, LabVIEW, C, C#, and C++
  8. Proficiency with Linux Operating System and Scripting
  9. Experience with Git for SW development
  10. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects
  11. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  12. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Graduate degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering or a related field
  2. Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing
  3. Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Rust, MATLAB
  4. Knowledge of Software Architectural Development and Design Patterns and Modeling
  5. Experience with Software Requirements Development
  6. Experience with SQL database application
  7. Good understanding of Statistical Process Control, Measurement Capability and Capacity Analysis
  8. Experience developing or certifying DO-254 avionics hardware
  9. Familiarity with sensors including linear variable differential transformers, resistance temperature detectors, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and resolvers
  10. Proficient at programming, debugging, and troubleshooting devices with microcontrollers

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $141,480-$198,072, depending on location and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays. Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
