Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA to join our team. As a fast-growing start-up in the Australian market, we are looking for someone with expertise in AWS and Snowflake to help us achieve our mission.

The company's mission is to leverage information to make informed decisions. As we continue to expand, this role will play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server environments on-premise and in AWS.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+)
  • Migrate and manage SQL databases in AWS (RDS, EC2-hosted SQL, etc.)
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations
  • Monitor and tune database performance using native and third-party tools
  • Develop and implement database backup strategies and recovery plans
  • Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to support CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Design, manage, and optimize Snowflake data warehouses in a production environment
  • Implement security controls and maintain compliance with internal/external standards
Requirements:
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL in AWS
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure/AWS Solutions Architect
  • Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
