About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal to join our team at Hedland Senior High School. As a key member of the school's leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the strategic directions of whole school positive behaviour support processes and developing, reviewing and refining school policy and guidelines that govern all aspects of student wellbeing and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic directions of whole school positive behaviour support processes
  • Develop, review and refine school policy and guidelines that govern all aspects of student wellbeing and support
  • Ensure quality case management through working collaboratively with the Program Coordinators – Student Support (PC-SS) and Student Support Coordinator
  • Oversee the operational management of our Student Support Centre
  • Lead the school in maintaining a positive learning environment where each student's physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development is fostered
Requirements
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources
