East Coast Risk Manager Opportunity

Join a rapidly growing global startup and take on the role of Senior Specialty Underwriter for the East region. You will be responsible for next-generation risk assessment, moving away from traditional underwriting towards data-driven risk selection using mega data, AI, and curiosity.

Our team is dedicated to innovation and we're looking for a talented individual who shares our passion for shaping the future of insurance. As a Senior Specialty Underwriter, you will work closely with our team to modernize underwriting with cutting-edge technology and assess risk, price, and tailor coverage/terms to grow and manage a profitable book of business.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Establishing and shaping our presence in the light-nondamitted market.
  • Quoting and releasing new light nonadmitted business, including referred business and those seeking changes beyond user thresholds.
  • Analyzing and approving policy changes, ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintaining knowledge of E&S state insurance regulations and ISO rules within your territory.
  • Communicating openly and supportively with team members and partners.
  • Monitoring portfolio via reports, audits, and inspections.
  • Supporting marketing efforts to promote our company.
  • Completing special projects and assignments.
  • Traveling as necessary.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Habitational underwriting/insurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of habitational insurance products and principles.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Retail agency relationship experience preferred.
  • Curiosity, hardworking, self-accountable, positive attitude, humble, and fun.
  • Openness to sharing and receiving opinions.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing and learning.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Located in the Eastern territory with understanding of the East Coast insurance landscape.
