Job Title: Engineering Drafting Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Drafting Lead to join our team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading our civil drafting team in South Brisbane and working on significant major infrastructure projects.

The role involves undertaking design and documentation with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, supervising, coordinating, and reviewing draftspersons' work to maintain high technical standards, completing, reviewing, and validating design drawings and documentation with a focus on quality, overseeing knowledge sharing, including mentoring junior team members, and developing training curriculums to support CAD technologies and providing learning support through coaching and knowledge sharing.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Drafting or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience leading a team of civil drafters, managing project resourcing, and ensuring quality outputs and client deliverables.
  • Extensive experience delivering Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects according to their specifications.
  • A good understanding of Common Data Environments, such as ACC and ProjectWise.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 19650 – not essential.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD Macros and Scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Extensive experience with software design tools, such as AutoCAD packages.
  • Basic knowledge of Civil 3D or 12D would be useful.
  • Strong knowledge of local drafting standards, including TMR, CoGC, CMB, BCC etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to solve problems using existing procedures.
  • Strong client focus, high level of motivation, and dedication, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
