We are seeking an experienced leader to join the Department of Treasury and Finance as the Head of People and Culture. This is a key role that will play a fundamental part in driving organisational success and shaping the future of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the People and Culture business unit, ensuring delivery of key functions and services in business partnering, industrial relations, workforce reporting and compliance, job design and talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding, organisational development and WHS.
- Ensure that best practice is adopted and delivered across DTF's varied workforce capabilities to position DTF as an employer of choice and cultivate and support a high performing workforce.
- Deliver high level strategic and operational advice and support on a range of complex workforce matters, working closely with the Director, Organisational Performance, senior departmental executives and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure agency-wide workforce policies, procedures and processes are legally and industrially compliant and support the current and future business needs of DTF.
To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in human resource management or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading contemporary workforce capabilities in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver business outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and operational advice to executives on workforce issues, with an ability to collaborate, negotiate and problem solve.
- Proven experience in effectively leading, managing, motivating and supporting a team of HR, OD, IR, WHS and workforce system professionals to deliver outcomes in a demanding environment with competing priorities.
- Sound judgement to interpret and apply complex HR policy and entitlements in line with public sector determinations and legislation and ensure compliance.
