We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic and innovative company.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This includes maintaining one of the world's largest information system infrastructures, troubleshooting technical issues on various platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently
  • Escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all Systems and problems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on various platforms ranging from Systems through to Power/Mechanical
  • Remediation of physical layer outages, both Systems & Network
  • Meet 24x7 On-Call requirements and response during shift rotations
  • Install & configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centres and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

About the Role

This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 20 kg; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience with server hardware
  • 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to cover 24x7 shift rotation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the follow hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP) is a plus.
