Lead Animator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Animator to join our team. As a key member of the animation department, you will be responsible for supervising an animation team, guiding the process of choreography and performance, and delivering final animation for feature films.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer-generated imagery (CGI) and extensive experience working on high-profile projects. You will be a leader who can inspire and motivate a team, providing guidance and education to ensure the delivery of exceptional results.

In this role, you will work closely with animation supervisors to create convincing performances and motion, collaborate with the build department to ensure model suitability, and deliver high-quality performance and acting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor an animation team to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with animation supervisors to develop and implement creative solutions.
  • Work closely with the build department to ensure model suitability and compatibility.
  • Deliver high-quality animation and performance standards that meet client expectations.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in CGI and feature film production.
  • Prior leadership experience and ability to motivate and educate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

This is a contract position with a minimum of 2 years, and the ideal candidate must have the right to work in Australia. Relocation to Sydney may be required for this role.
