Lead Nursing Team

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated nursing professional seeking a leadership role in a dynamic healthcare setting. This position offers the opportunity to provide strategic direction, manage resources effectively, and contribute to the overall success of the hospital.

As a Lead Nurse, you will oversee the Surgical Ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care while managing human, financial, and material resources. You will actively participate in quality improvement and accreditation processes, adhering to National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and Workplace Health and Safety protocols.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing operational leadership and management of the ward.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Managing human, financial, and material resources.
  • Mentoring less experienced nursing staff.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Acute setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to developing in a management role.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
