Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled combat systems professional to support the development of critical combat and electronic systems for defence vessels.

This role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including integration, verification, and validation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to systems design, analysis, and testing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the development of critical combat and electronic systems
  • Undertaking technical investigations, root cause analysis, and solution identification for combat systems and associated equipment
  • Conducting system assessments, performance, and risk analysis to support design decisions and certification processes
  • Developing and reviewing engineering documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Electronics, or related)
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in combat systems engineering, preferably in a defence or naval environment
  • Proven knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, including integration, verification, and validation
  • Sound understanding of combat, weapons, and communications systems, as used on naval platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder coordination abilities
  • Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline Clearance minimum)

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in the Australian maritime defence sector
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (such as AutoCAD or MicroStation) and engineering documentation production
  • Experience with Defence software and configuration management systems (e.g., DOORS, SAP)
  • Experience supporting engineering change management, and readiness activities
