About the Role:

We are seeking a Medical Registrar to join our team for a 6-month fixed-term position at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain clinical and technical expertise in diagnostic virology and other specialist services.

You will work under the supervision of a relevant pathologist and provide high-quality clinical supervision of diagnostic and reference laboratories. This is a unique chance to increase your expertise in laboratory management, including quality and compliance, and complete compulsory requirements for training.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent knowledge-base and sound clinical judgment in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. You will also require excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gaining clinical and technical expertise in diagnostic virology
  • Providing high-quality clinical supervision of diagnostic and reference laboratories
  • Increasing expertise in laboratory management, including quality and compliance

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge-base and sound clinical judgment in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
