About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to join our team at Gough Recruitment AU. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the state's only soil recycling facility located at Gillman, South Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the soil recycling facility, ensuring compliance with SA EPA Licence conditions and environmental legislation.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Supervise the preventative and reactive maintenance of the facility, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Strategically plan and manage site operations, including the procurement and management of contractors, to meet revenue targets and control expenses.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and service providers, ensuring they meet contractual arrangements and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee inventory compliance with contractual arrangements and environmental legislation, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Develop and manage the budget, ensuring revenue targets are met and expenses remain within allocated limits while seeking cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Project Management or relevant professional experience, i.e. Facilities Management with a sustainability component.
  • Knowledge of EPA guidelines and waste classification mechanisms ideal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with government bodies and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a small team with limited direction.
  • Ability to weigh up information and make informed decisions on the spot.
