Lives Lived Well supports individuals to live well. Our services cater to those with concerns related to alcohol and other drugs, mental health, transitioning from corrective services, veterans' wellbeing, and gambling in Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia.

Targeted Psychological Therapies Program Overview

The Targeted Psychological Therapies Program aims to increase access to psychological treatments for vulnerable individuals in the Darling Downs region. This includes those at risk of suicide or self-harm, the LGBTIQA+ communities, and other marginalised groups within our region.

The program will run in multiple locations. You will be based in Toowoomba but undertake frequent outreach activities to both Southern Downs and Western Downs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to provide support and services to those who are most vulnerable and reduce barriers. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual therapy sessions to address various mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, grief, and cognitive impairments.
  • Providing psychological insights and recommendations to enhance overall care and well-being.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of counselling or treatments, and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, then modifying plans and diagnoses as necessary.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs and capabilities of each client.
  • Ensuring appropriate clinical risk management strategies are in place to keep clients safe. Refer clients to other treating professionals, institutions, or support services if required.

We are recruiting two full-time positions with the possibility of part-time for the right applicant (minimum of 3 full days per week). These positions are until 30th June 2025 with possibility of extension.

The annual salary ranges between $97,377 to $119,869 depending on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience. On top of this, you will receive 11.5% superannuation payment, and leave loading (17.5%). You can also significantly increase your take-home pay via the salary sacrificing option available to you.
