Medical Device Reprocessor

Sterilisation Technicians are key professionals in maintaining patient safety through the provision of sterilising services and thermal disinfection of reusable medical devices.
This role involves the collection, receipt, and reprocessing of contaminated instruments and equipment for re-sterilisation, packing, and reuse.
The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate in Sterilisation Technology and experience working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on Infection Prevention and Control guidelines, National Sterilisation standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
Main Responsibilities- Provide sterile and thermally disinfected medical and surgical equipment for patient care, adhering to Australian Standards and departmental policies.
- Receive, reprocess, and repackage contaminated instruments and equipment to ensure their safe reuse.
- Maintain compliance with AS5369:2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and Infection Control Guidelines.
- Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to workplace improvements and maintain a high level of professionalism within the team.
- Certificate in Sterilisation Technology with relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of Infection Prevention and Control guidelines, National Sterilisation standards, and WHS requirements.
- Ability to meet all physical requirements as described in the position description.
