Leader of Risk Management Initiatives

  • Develops and implements comprehensive risk management strategies to minimize exposure across Commodities, Trade, and Carbon (CTC) products.

  • Manages the end-to-end risk process for CTC clients within the IB&M portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a portfolio of high-commodity-risk clients, including commodity traders and vertically integrated trading companies.

  • Oversees the Carbon lending portfolio to drive growth in carbon credit supply through strategic lending initiatives.

  • Collaborates with senior decision-makers to identify and assess transactional or portfolio risks, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate these risks.

  • Supports the development of risk tolerance limits and standards of practice aligned with industry best practices.

  • Contributes to the establishment of overall risk appetite and oversight for physical commodities holdings across Base Metals, Precious Metals, Agriculture, and Carbon.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in credit risk management, transaction assessment, and portfolio optimization.

  • Strong understanding of Trade Finance products, structured trade finance, and related market dynamics.

  • Advanced knowledge of derivative and commodity-related markets, as well as relevant industry expertise.

  • Effective stakeholder management skills and ability to interact with internal and external senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
