Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Hearing Australia. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data platforms and systems infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-volume data applications to ingest, transform, and store data for reporting, analytics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance of our data platforms and systems infrastructure.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into technical solutions, leveraging expertise in data modeling, ETL applications, and scripting.
  • Develop and deploy ETL applications and scripts across various data sources and stores, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Practice disciplined software engineering, including automated testing, code reviews, and writing efficient and cost-effective code.
  • Contribute to team and organizational standards, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, ensuring quality, fit-for-purpose designs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes, leveraging expertise in data warehousing, data migration, and CI/CD.
Requirements
  • University degree in computer or software engineering (Bachelor or above degree).
  • Strong experience implementing and delivering data solutions using Azure data stack.
  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL applications, and scripting, with a focus on cloud-based solutions.
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a solution designer in data domain.
  • 5+ years of experience on Azure data stack (ADL, ADF, Purview, Synapse CI/CD...).
  • Hands-on experience with PySpark/PySQL, DBMS, and data formats (distributed and otherwise).
  • Experience in consuming and transforming data from enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses, data migration, and CI/CD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
