This is a senior management opportunity with a long standing advocacy organization.

The organisation provides individual and systemic advocacy in line with the priorities of Australia's Disability Strategy. With over 40 years of experience, the organisation has supported and addressed issues at an individual and systemic level. In this role you will be working to empower the voices of people with disabilities in Western Australia.

As the Operations Manager you will have full oversight of ongoing and future strategic projects. Reporting directly to the CEO you will be joining the executive leadership team and take a key role in driving the strategic direction of the organisation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting the organisation throughout the general community and target agencies
  • Contributing to the advocacy team and supporting managers in meetings as required
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing activities that address member needs
  • Ensuring compliance with legislated standards and guidelines
  • Regularly reviewing and evaluating key projects
  • Ensuring all programs/initiatives are adequately resourced
  • Coordinating continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting project staff training and development by providing regular supervision
  • Representing the organisation in interagency meetings
  • Assisting the CEO in developing key stakeholder relationships

To succeed in this role, you will be a highly experienced professional with proven executive management experience. As the Operations Manager you will hold a passion and demonstrated commitment for supporting individual and systemic advocacy. Key requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in coordinating and managing strategic projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team including recruitment and development of new employees
  • Strong financial management skills with proven budget experience
  • Key stakeholder engagement capabilities across not for profit and government agencies
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement of operational policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S and EEO principles
  • Knowledge of current disability and human rights legislation
  • Proven understanding of broader disability issues and the NDIS
  • Personal experience of disability will be highly regarded
