Job Overview

The University of New South Wales is seeking an exceptional Associate Professor in Theoretical Machine Learning to join the School of Computer Science and Engineering.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced academic with a proven track record in research leadership, teaching excellence, and industry engagement. As an Associate Professor, you will be responsible for spearheading outstanding research in Theoretical Machine Learning, delivering exceptional teaching, and contributing to the development of the School's curriculum.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead research in Theoretical Machine Learning, with a focus on publishing high-impact papers and securing external funding;
  • Deliver excellent teaching in areas related to Theoretical Machine Learning, including developing and teaching courses, supervising students, and mentoring junior academics;
  • Contribute to the development of the School's curriculum, including designing and implementing new courses and programs;
  • Engage with industry partners to develop collaborative research projects and promote the School's research expertise;
  • Mentor and supervise students, as well as contribute to the School's graduate program;
  • Pursue opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge transfer.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of AUD $179,630 to $197,312 per annum, plus superannuation benefits.
