Job Summary

The Automotive Repair Specialist will be a senior personnel and a key member of the workshop team at Wagga Trucks. As a mentor and leader, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting apprentice mechanics in their development and growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough motor vehicle diagnoses and fault finding to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Source and acquire automotive parts and accessories as required to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Workshop Foreman to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard, while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Carry out detailed motor vehicle inspections and conduct automotive servicing and repairs to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of all fault reports, maintenance, and inspections forms to ensure accurate and efficient documentation.
  • Differentiate between Warranty and Non-Warranty work and liaise with the Service Foreman to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Work closely with the Warranty Administration Clerk to ensure all paperwork, new parts, and old parts are accurately documented and labelled.
  • Take high-quality photos of work completed as required to support documentation and quality control.
  • Ensure accurate clocking on and off of customer jobs to maintain accurate records and meet company standards.
  • Complete paperwork to a high standard to avoid delays in the service department.
  • Obtain purchase order numbers for all sublets to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
  • Collaborate with parts interpreters to book parts efficiently and avoid missing any necessary components.
  • Deliver high-quality repairs, servicing, inspections, and maintenance to meet customer expectations and company standards.
  • Operate workshop hoists in accordance with Wagga Trucks Health and Safety Policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular workshop housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues as required to support their development and growth.
  • Assist with in-house training and supervision as needed to ensure the success of the workshop team.
  • Support other staff members as required to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform any other tasks as required to support the success of the workshop team and the company.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times to represent Wagga Trucks positively.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Wear steel cap shoes/boots at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Familiarize yourself with Wagga Trucks H&S policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence.
  • Comply with Wagga Trucks H&S policies at all times to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Report any hazards or H&S issues to the Health and Safety Coordinator immediately to ensure prompt attention and resolution.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop a solid understanding of safe working applications to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid driver's license and a forklift license (highly recommended).
