Role Overview

This Senior Manager position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and validate models used for Counterparty Credit Risk, Valuation Adjustments, and associated valuation pricing models. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing risk management outcomes across multiple teams and ensuring compliance with Australian regulations such as APS180, CPS226, and APS116.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight and independent validation of models used for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), Valuation Adjustments (XVA), the Standardised Initial Margin Model (SIMM) and associated valuation pricing models.
  • Manage and deliver risk management outcomes to senior stakeholders across Commodities and Global Markets, Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Prudential Risk teams.
  • Ensure independent validation is completed to ensure models are compliant with Australian regulations.
Requirements
  • Educational background in a quantitative discipline, with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable risk management experience, with a deep understanding of financial products, key risk factors, and advanced modelling techniques regarding CCR and model performance assessments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels to deliver strong risk outcomes.
  • Previous experience with model calibration using statistical or stochastic models, advanced numerical/statistical techniques, and computational finance.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages (Python, R); exposure to low-level languages (C++); and background knowledge in commodity markets would be considered favorably.
