Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at one of our customer offices in Australia. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing concept designs for physical products, utilising sound industrial design principles to ensure usability and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing & Sales, and Field personnel to capture key product requirements and pain points.
- Execute comprehensive benchmarking of global product offerings to guide the concept development process.
- Develop design concepts that meet all product requirements, exploring opportunities to add innovative features that delight customers.
- Engage with Purchasing / Supply Chain to ensure concept designs can be produced using viable and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
- Design mechanical components and systems, create part drawings and specifications, and release mechanical documents to Production.
- Ensure all designs meet product requirements, simulate systems considering thermal, electrical, and magnetic effects, and update existing mechanical designs to support ongoing production.
- Develop and construct test fixtures for design validation and production, and create marketing showcases for new products.
- Perform detailed cost analysis of in-development products, focusing on material costs and volume considerations.
- Manage and create external-facing documents, such as user guides and field notices.
Requirements
5 years' experience in a relevant engineering field, Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline. Australian citizenship or applicable working visa required.
