Prosecutorial Leadership Opportunity
The Department of Justice QLD is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Crown Prosecutor to lead complex criminal cases, provide expert advice to the Director of Public Prosecutions, and mentor junior lawyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead high-stakes prosecutions in superior court trials
- Provide expert advice on criminal law and evidence
- Exercise prosecutorial discretion to initiate, modify or discontinue serious criminal charges
- Champion victims' rights and ensure they are supported throughout the legal process
- Build strong relationships with judges, legal counsel, police, and other stakeholders
- Develop rising talent and foster a culture of professional growth and collaboration
Requirements:
- Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia
- Proven ability to manage complex trials, appeals, and tactical legal challenges at the highest levels
- Strategic insight and ability to negotiate, advocate, and communicate with influence
- Commitment to excellence and improving work practices
