Job Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity for junior doctors to pursue a career in surgery, focusing on General Surgery. You will work under supervision in complex clinical environments and gain valuable experience.

About The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating admission, management, and discharge planning of patients. This includes documenting admission and management plans, involvement in day-to-day assessment and management of patients, arranging consultations, and ensuring effective clinical handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating patient care with all members of the team
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of patient information
  • Participating in daily clinical assessments and management decisions
  • Arranging consultations with specialists as needed
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • At least three years' postgraduate experience in public hospital service
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
