Job Title: Senior Conservation Planning Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Conservation Planning Officer to join our team in the Hunter Central Coast Region. As a key member of our Regional Planning Team, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice to support planning and conservation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide advice on strategic environmental planning matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and report on biodiversity impacts for major projects, planning proposals, threatened species licenses, and other development-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic planning documents and Environmental Planning Instruments.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of and experience in the interpretation of legislation and environmental planning and assessment issues.
  • Experience in the assessment and analysis of strategic and complex conservation proposals.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a high-volume, complex work environment.
  • Experience in biodiversity assessment, botany, and strategic planning.
