Insurance Assistant Account Manager Job Description

The role of an Insurance Assistant Account Manager involves providing administrative and technical support to Commercial Lines Account Managers in a dynamic team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational insurance knowledge who is looking to grow their career in commercial lines.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to Commercial Lines Account Managers, assisting with day-to-day tasks and learning client management skills.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and new business applications accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and process insurance binders, certificates of insurance, and other related documentation timely.
  • Assist with gathering necessary information for renewals and new business quotes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and data in the agency management system.
  • Follow up on outstanding items with clients and carriers to ensure timely completion.
  • Learn and understand various commercial insurance coverages and products.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the commercial lines department.
Qualifications
  • Requirements:
  • Active Australian Property & Casualty Broker's License is required, or the willingness and ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an insurance agency or brokerage environment preferred, or a strong administrative background with a keen interest in insurance.
  • Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Applied Epic agency management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required.
  • Strong customer service and a desire to help clients.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy office environment.
