Job Description:

The Capacity Management team at Servicenow drives resource availability to support our private and public cloud infrastructure. As a Strategic Capacity Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing the overall health of our top accounts and articulating the infrastructure resources required. This includes current and future hardware requirements, consumption analysis, compliance reviews, and a holistic review of our farm as it pertains to storage and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Directly interact with internal teams to provide appropriate capacity for accounts migrating to or currently residing in our public cloud.
Conceptualize and assist engineering solutions that automate tasks and processes pertaining to public cloud.
Proactively analyze and identify opportunities for storage reduction, providing advance warning to appropriate teams for remediation.
Proactively identify and assess infrastructure performance deficiencies.
Identify technical debt and provide guidance across teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current and future hardware requirements to optimize capacity.
Provide forecasting analysis for non-standard customer infrastructure requirements.
Monitor and strategize projected growth and scaling for database storage utilization and transaction load, concurrent user load and burst demand, and planned and unplanned infrastructure lifecycle.

Requirements:

Minimum five years of working experience within capacity management, database engineering, infrastructure performance, Servicenow support, and/or Servicenow administration.
Azure/AWS cloud engineering experience.
DBE/DBA with an emphasis on creating complex SQL queries.
Understanding of the Servicenow platform.
Team collaboration, general fit, and goal alignment are essential.
Proven track record making data-driven decisions.
Understanding of relational database concepts (My SQL/Maria DB/Postgre SQL).
High-level experience deploying, forecasting, and maintaining public cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
Australian Citizenship to be able to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Linux System Admin skills, preferably working knowledge of Cent OS/RHEL.
Ability to adapt to a dynamically changing cloud infrastructure.
General knowledge of enterprise-class server hardware.
Programming skills – Python/Ruby/Bash/Java Script/Terraform.
Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
Have basic knowledge of storage configuration concepts and best practices therein.
Experience using the Servicenow platform: Support customers with non-standard infrastructure requirements.
Identify patterns of abnormal growth.
Provide guidance to internal teams through proactive measures.
Bachelor of computer science, Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, Database Engineering, Data Analytics, or any other related field.
The equivalent in work experience is also acceptable for the position.
