About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Support Engineering team at The Missing Link. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients' network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network protocols, routing, and switching, as well as experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies.

  • Provide Level 2 remote and on-site support to a diverse range of customers.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Work with the project team to design, configure, deploy and support network solutions to meet business needs.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Continuous process improvement and provide technical support and training to other team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer ideally in MSP or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Cisco / Juniper Certifications, eg CCNA, CCNP.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and implementing firewall policies.
  • Experience in supporting and managing Wireless solutions.
  • Understand Windows Server features, DNS, DHCP, NPS, RADIUS, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills

  • Familiar with some sort of Unified Threat Management Platform, eg Sophos, Cyberhound, etc.
  • Experience with any of the companies in our scope, eg Juniper, Cisco, Extreme, Palo Alto, Meraki, Aruba, Aerohive, FortiGate.
  • Understand the basic intricacies of virtual, private and public cloud networking.
  • Experience in Load balancers.
