About the Role

The Business Manager will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of quality learning and teaching within a Catholic school context through effective financial and business management.

The successful candidate will provide key direction in school spending, budgets, assets, site, buildings, finances, fees, and non-educational data analysis.

Responsibilities will include:

  • providing financial management and strategic development in an educational setting
  • managing day-to-day accounting procedures, including accounts payable and receivable, banking procedures, and reconciliation
  • preparing and presenting monthly reports, asset management, risk management, and maintenance
  • implementing debt recovery strategies that respect the dignity of families
  • preparing reports for the Principal and school finance committee on budgets, assets, incoming funds, outgoing payments, liquidity, loan liability, maintenance liabilities, and insurances
  • overseeing Flexi-schools, working with the Finance Secretary
  • providing effective WHS management and coordination of any repairs and maintenance at the school
  • ensuring effective management of school support and operational staff by assisting the Principal with human resources management
  • engaging, inducting, and coordinating contractors on the school site
  • ensuring a comprehensive maintenance schedule of facilities and equipment is in place and up to date

The ideal candidate will have experience and/or skills in brokering partnerships and sponsorship, as well as industry and business links and/or relationship development expertise and experience.

Key qualifications and skills include:

Essential criteria include an Undergraduate/Postgraduate university qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.

Candidates who meet all areas of criteria and believe they have extensive qualifications and experiences but do not have tertiary qualifications may be considered for this position.
