We are seeking a highly skilled Soil Carbon Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Soil Carbon team, you will be responsible for developing and managing carbon farming projects that contribute to climate change mitigation.
Your primary focus will be on working with growers and advisors to design, implement, and report on high-integrity carbon farming projects. You will provide leadership and business development support based on your experience in the mixed farming sector.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of science-based, high-integrity carbon projects and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including growers, advisors, agribusinesses, and regional farming groups.
This role requires a tertiary education in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, or related fields, as well as additional qualifications in Project Management or Business Development. Experience in mixed farming and agribusiness sectors is essential, along with strong network and trust-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities for the Soil Carbon program
- Serve as a key contact for the sector and supply chains
- Advocate for science-based, high-integrity carbon projects
- Provide data and insights to the team and management
- Manage relationships with stakeholders and partners
- Lead and support the Soil Carbon team in communication and priorities
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary education in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Soil Science, or related fields
- Additional qualifications in Project Management or Business Development
- Experience in mixed farming and agribusiness sectors
- Strong network and trust-building skills
- Knowledge of carbon farming and environmental constraints
