About the Poultry Labourer Role

We are seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our poultry operations team in a hands-on position that includes animal care, farm maintenance, cleaning, and general labouring tasks.

A strong emphasis is placed on compliance with biosecurity protocols, animal welfare standards, workplace health and safety policies, and maintaining high hygiene standards.

To succeed in this role, you should be physically fit, comfortable working with poultry, able to work on your feet for extended periods, and willing to follow strict compliance procedures. Weekend work is required as part of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record keeping: Assist in maintaining records within poultry operations, including bird health and performance reports.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to WHS policies and contribute to a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
  • Operational Tasks: Perform feeding, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to keep the farm running smoothly.
  • Biosecurity: Follow biosecurity measures to prevent disease spread and participate in regular biosecurity training. You are required to follow a simple shower procedure every morning before starting your workday.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Punctuality and reliability: We require team players who can collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Current car license and reliable transport: This will enable you to travel between farms safely.
  • Previous hatchery or farm work experience: While not essential, it would be beneficial for this role.
  • Fitness and health: You must be able to work on your feet all day.
  • Quarantine standards: You must meet quarantine standards, which include no contact with live birds, chooks, or pigs, and adherence to shower procedures.
