Visual Effects Leader

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Effects Leader to create stunning digital environments and mentor junior artists.
About the Role

This is an opportunity to join our team in Sydney and work on complex feature films, television shows, and commercials. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality visual effects and bring clients' visions to life.

You will lead the creation of high-resolution digital matte paintings and environment projections. You will collaborate with directors and VFX supervisors to establish artistic vision and technical approach. You will also provide guidance to junior and mid-level artists, helping them improve their skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-resolution digital matte paintings and environment projections for major feature films, television shows, and other projects.
  • Collaborate with VFX supervisors and directors to define the look and feel of complex shots and sequences.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level artists to elevate the quality of work across the team.
  • Develop efficient workflows and techniques to solve creative and technical challenges.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a digital matte painter in a senior or lead role within a high-end VFX studio.
  • Mastery of Photoshop and 3D software (e.g., Maya, Nuke, and camera projection techniques).
  • An exceptional portfolio showcasing mastery of composition, light, color, and photo-realism.
  • Extensive knowledge of the VFX pipeline and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of mentoring artists and collaborating with senior creative leadership.
