We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team in Newcastle, Australia. As a key member of our Contaminated Site team, you will be responsible for managing small to medium-scale contaminated-site projects, collaborating with experts on high-profile projects, and working on a range of sites to support compliance requirements, remediation, and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct environmental field works, including drilling, hydrogeological testing, site validation, and monitoring.
- Collect and analyze environmental samples, including soil, groundwater, soil vapour, and ambient air.
- Develop conceptual site models and prepare detailed field notes.
- Draft technical assessments reports and recommendations.
- Oversee contractors and ensure safe, compliant, and quality field works programs.
- Apply legislation, standards, guidelines, and project specifications.
- Prepare proposals and lead projects to meet budget and strategic goals.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of consultants.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, innovation, and passion.
You will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and be enthusiastic, reliable, and great at building collaborative working relationships. You will also bring experience in managing small to medium contaminated-site projects, knowledge of soil contaminants and site sampling techniques, and understanding of NSW regulations pertaining to the management of contaminated sites.
