About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the operational and financial performance of the Melbourne Ramp Department.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery to airline customers.
  • Set and maintain operation procedures that achieve quality and performance standards.
  • Monitor and report on ground handling service performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and implement staff resource plans, ensuring adequate training and development opportunities.
  • Assess staff performance, conduct appraisals, and address disciplinary issues.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including passenger services and customer airline management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
  1. Lead and develop the Melbourne Ramp Department team to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  2. Implement strategies to improve service quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  4. Manage risk and ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of operational management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
