Job Opportunity: Childcare Professional

This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career in Early Learning and Childcare. As a Childcare Modern Apprentice, you will be working with children, supporting their development and well-being.

The role involves following established procedures to ensure the safety and security of all children. You will work closely with parents/carers to deliver an individual learning and development journey for children. This may include liaising with them to understand their child's needs and developing activities that meet those needs.

You will also be part of a team that operates a programme of activities designed to meet the individual needs and interests of children in your care. This may involve contributing to learning activities and helping the children achieve their learning outcomes. In addition, you will support all team members and help to create a positive working environment.

  • Follow established procedures to ensure the safety and security of all children.
  • Liaise with and work closely with parents/carers to deliver an individual learning and development journey for children.
  • Work closely within a team to operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your care.
  • Contribute to a wide range of learning activities and the achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Support all team members and engage in developing an excellent working environment.
  • Assist children with personal care tasks including toileting, dressing, and feeding.
  • Be flexible and provide help where needed, to include the cleaning of equipment and preparing of snacks.

You will also work towards obtaining an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7. The timescales for completion of this Modern Apprenticeship can vary depending on the individual, but normally take between 12 to 15 months.

To be successful in this role, you should have effective interaction skills, enthusiasm for working with children, and the ability to use your own initiative. You should also be able to adapt to a fast-moving environment and be a committed, valued member of a team.
