Pinjarra Race Club Inc. is a leading thoroughbred race club and community-focused organisation in the Murray Districts region of Western Australia.

The club contributes significantly to the local economy, generating over $100 million annually and achieving a turnover of over $200 million across Australian and International wagering channels.

As one of Western Australia's premier racing venues, we host a diverse calendar of 25 events between November and August, including busy periods during Christmas and New Year.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Office Administrator and Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time role is based in Pinjarra, Western Australia, and will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of race days and financial operations of our thriving racecourse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial activity, including payroll, accounts payable and receivables, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversight of race day operations, delegation to an Office Assistant, coordination of casual staff, contractors, and area managers, facilities, and logistics.
  • Provide detailed financial reports to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with book-keeping standards, Fair Work awards, GST reporting requirements, Associations Incorporation Act, and Racing WA industry regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor the Office Assistant, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Office Administrator/Senior Bookkeeper utilising MYOB, preferably within the sports or hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial administrative skills, including bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Excellent organisational capabilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team, with assistance from the office assistant, of casual race day staff.
  • A working knowledge of relevant bookkeeping standards (MYOB), GST Reporting, and industry regulations.
  • Passion for the racing/event industry and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
